Linked data

English version:
Linked data is also called semantic web, because it deals with explaining the meaning of data. As the illustration shows, a range of different datamodels has been developed within the construction and infrastructure industry, and thus a need for combining them. Furthermore there is a lot bespoke data structures in use in the industry. This calls for a common way of publishing, and that is what linked data is all about.
Linked data is simply the idea of making very diverse data available on the internet, by explaining them in a way that makes them searchable for computers. Not by reorganizing them after some other datamodel or data structure than the one they were originally created from, but by using standardized relations and rules to explain what kind of knowledge they represent.
In other words, linked data is all about realizing that there is a lot of knowledge domains out there. We should not force anyone to conform to a certain order, but instead ask them to explain their knowledge in a way that allows us to combine it with our own.
Linked data technology is useful for external publishing purposes, as well as internal in large organisations, who usually deals with multiple data sets.
